I recently purchased this sub from a box store sale (really didn't want to have it shipped.)My 10+ year old Carver Sunfire finally failed (AMAZING reference sub!) I waited awhile to replace it while researching great options without wanting to spend big $$$ for this component (there is no need if you do your homework anymore.) I'm not a hardcore audiophile, but I wanted a subwoofer that had mixed performance for home theater and music, which is a tall task for many subwoofers in general. They typically excel at one or the other without being well-balanced for both. This sub box housing is large, so you should probably have a good idea of how much room you have available for placement (and that's the only reason I'm dinging it one star for most.)
I've been very pleased with the performance of the Klipsch and recommend it.
